Sri Lanka Navy sources have confirmed that a multi-day fishing trawler carrying several sailors on patrol has gone missing off Sri Lankan waters this week. The Navy has not been able to contact or locate the personnel since. Six personnel are believed to have been on board at the time.

The missing trawler had been assigned to the Navy Intelligence and was deployed south of Sri Lanka. The Navy believes bad weather may have played a part in their disappearance.
