Ceylon Petroleum Corporation Records a Profit of 43.4 Billion in Four Months

The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) has announced a significant profit of 43.4 billion rupees in the first four months of the year 2023, according to the financial status report issued by the Ministry of Finance.

During this period, the report highlights that the CPC incurred expenses amounting to 277.1 million dollars for crude oil imports and 1,009.3 million dollars for oil imports. Furthermore, the total value of petroleum products imported by the Petroleum Corporation reached 877.35 million dollars.

The report further reveals that between January and April of this year, Sri Lanka expended a total of $1,599.7 million for fuel imports, accounting for 30 percent of the country's total import cost. These figures indicate the significant portion of resources allocated to meet the nation's fuel demands.
