In the latest crackdown on illicit activities, the Sri Lankan police force, under the Yukthiya special operation, has apprehended over 8,000 suspects within the past four days.

During a focused 24-hour operation concluding at 12:30 am today, authorities arrested 2,008 individuals and successfully seized substantial quantities of illegal substances.

The haul includes 1.2 kilograms of heroin, 12 kilograms of cannabis, and 17,054 narcotic pills.
