December 27, 2023

Sri Lanka is set to experience diverse weather patterns in the coming days, with the Meteorological Department forecasting showers at intervals in the Northern, North-central, Eastern, and Uva provinces, along with the Hambantota district.

Anticipating these weather shifts, authorities are advising residents and local authorities to stay vigilant, especially in the Uva province, where fairly heavy rains exceeding 75 mm are expected in certain areas. The districts of Ampara and Batticaloa are also likely to experience significant rainfall during this period.

In the central regions of Matale and Nuwara Eliya, several spells of showers are predicted, adding to the overall precipitation expected across the island.
