The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) has arrested three Sri Lankan fishermen who entered Indian waters near Rameswaram on Tuesday. The fishermen, aboard a fibre boat, were arrested during a patrol in the Bay of Bengal.
The ICGS Mandapam intercepted the vessel, registered as OFRP 5671 JFN, and took it into custody. Following standard procedures, the case has been transferred to the Tamil Nadu Coastal Security Group in Mandapam.
The arrested individuals have been identified as R. Niroshan (34), T. Bala Ramesh (37), and P. Pulaykumar (44), all from the Jaffna region.
