The Meteorology Department expects heavy showers exceeding 100 mm across several regions today, influenced by the Intertropical Convergence Zone. Showers and thundershowers are anticipated in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North-western provinces, as well as Galle and Matara districts.

Additional rainfall is expected throughout the island, particularly in the afternoon and evening.
