In two tragic drowning incidents over the past 48 hours, two individuals have lost their lives, including a four-year-old child.

The first incident happened yesterday afternoon in the Dankotuwa area, where the child fell into a water canal. The child rescued,had died upon admission at the Dankotuwa Hospital.

In a separate incident, a 76-year-old man drowned while bathing in the Menik Ganga river in Buththala on Monday evening. After his family reported him missing, a search operation was launched, leading to the discovery of his body near the bathing area this morning.
