Defence Ministry Secretary Air Vice Marshal (Retired) Sampath Thuyacontha announced that a decision regarding the resumption of the temporarily suspended G.C.E. Advanced Level (A/L) examination is expected after 29 November.
Speaking at a press conference held today (27 November) to address the prevailing weather conditions, the Defence Ministry Secretary said,
"The A/L examination was temporarily halted due to adverse weather. After reviewing the situation post-29 November, necessary arrangements will be made to resume the exams under suitable conditions. The Examination Department will release the revised schedule in real-time."
The decision to suspend the exams for three days—27, 28, and 29 November—was taken on 26 November due to continuous heavy rainfall. Commissioner General of Examinations H.J.M.C. Amith Jayasundara confirmed the suspension and assured that updates on rescheduling will be communicated promptly.
