Former Secretary to the President Lalith Weeratunga's wife Indrani Sugathadasa has been re-appointed as the Chairperson of the Insurance Board of Sri Lanka.
She was appointed as the Chairperson of the board under former President Mahinda Rajapaksa's government. Interestingly, President Maithripala Sirisena too has decided to retain Sugathadasa as the head of the Insurance Board.

She held the position since her resignation from the top post of the Securities and Exchange Commission in 2011. She stated her resignation from the commission was to uphold her principles.
