President's Counsel Dilrukshi Dias Wickramasinghe has been appointed as the Director General for the Commission to Investigate Bribery or Corruption.
She received the letter of appointment in the morning from President Maithripala Sirisena.
She replaces Ganesh Dharmawardena, whose conduct was severely criticized by certain quarters within the government during the last few weeks. Dharmawardena has been transferred to the Ministry of Justice.
Wickremesinghe was an Assistant Solicitor General from 2014 and has worked in the civil division at the Attorney General Department and has an experience of 28 years.
She has a LLM in Commercial Law from Monash University.
