UPFA MP of Kurunegela district Salinda Dissanayake said as a permanent member of the Central Committee he should be given a position in the SLFP.

The Parliamentarian further said that he was not given any position because he never worshiped anyone of the party.

“I’m more experienced than Anura Priyadarshana Yapa who was given the General Secretary post, yet I was not given any position. Giving important positions to inexperienced members of the party is not fair”, Dissanayake said.

He also stated that President Maithripala Sirisena is still under the force of United National Party (UNP) and that is why he is unable to protect SLFP supporters from the ‘threats’ of UNP.

Anura Priyadarshana Yapa was re-appointed as the General Secretary of the SLFP by the recent Executive Committee meeting of the SLFP.

Dissanayake was not considered for any senior position at the SLFP Central Committee and Executive Committee meetings of the party which were held over the weekend.
