Former Minister of Construction, Engineering Services, Housing and Common Amenities Wimal Weerawansa has been summoned by the CID this morning for questioning.

The sources of Asian Mirror informed that he is currently at the CID premises with two lawyers.

"We can't reveal the facts regarding to Weerawansa's summoning at the moment" Police Media Unit said.

Wimal Weerawansa's wife Shashi Weerawansa was arrested yesterday evening at the Neville Fernando Private Hospital in Malabe over the charges of obtaining a diplomatic passport in an illegal manner, after providing forged documents.
