The Education Ministry said that they have decided to take necessary actions against school principals and teachers for allegedly violating the circulars which banned the collection of funds for school admissions.

According to the investigations done by the ministry ten schools has been found to have collected money in violation of the circular.

The identified schools are,

• D.S. Senanyake College Colombo
• Isipathana Vidyalaya Colombo
• Mahinda Rajapakse Vidyalaya Homagama
• Anula Vidyalaya Nugegoda
• Sangamitta Balika Vidyalaya Galle
• Southland Balika Vidyalaya Galle
• Nugawela Central College Kandy
• Uddin National School Kandy
• Rahula Vidyalaya Matara 
• Viharamaha Devi Balika Vidyalaya Kiribathgoda 

The ministry declared that if the principals and teachers are found guilty of having violated Circular No: 05/2015 dated January 29, they would be transferred to other schools or zonal education offices and that disciplinary action would be taken against them.
