Sri Lankan Navy has granted permission to the former President's second son Yoshitha Rajapaksa to join the security team assigned to his father.
State Minister of Defence Ruwan Wijewardena told media a few days ago that Rajapaksa had submitted a request to the Defence Ministry seeking permission to join the security team of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa. However, he is presently on three months leave of absence.
An internal investigation is currently underway concerning his recruitment to the Navy and the scholarships that had been granted to him during the Rajapaska regime, following a complaint lodged by the JVP.
Yoshitha Rajapaksa is a Lieutenant of the Sri Lanka Navy.
