Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake questioned as to how Frontline Socialist Party Central Committee member Kumar Gunaratnam returned to Sri Lanka in January this year.
Taking part in the ‘Balaya’ political talk show on Hiru TV last evening, Dissanayake stated that a person who was once deported from a country will not be allowed to return under normal circumstances.
The JVP leader further stated that Kumar Gunaratnam has been ordered to leave the country at present after going through a judicial process. It was ironical that Frontline Socialist Party sought judicial remedy while criticizing it at the same time as a tool of the capitalist class, Dissanayake said.
He stressed that the JVP had been resilient in the political arena despite setbacks while those who broke away from the party had to enter agreements with other groups for mere survival.
