Cabinet Spokesperson Dr. Rajitha Senaratne said yesterday that the owners of CSN TV Channel should be revealed if it did not belong to Namal Rajapaksa.
He made this statement when he was questioned by a journalist about CSN at the weekly Cabinet press briefing.
Namal Rajapaksa had earlier said that CSN did not belong to him and he was just a spectator.
However, Senaratne said these were things they say after losing power. He added that if CSN did not belong to Rajapaksa, the owner of the channel should be questioned on how he earned so much money and has he paid income tax.
In July 2011, Nishantha Ranatunga, who was appointed CEO of CSN, said that "The owner is one Mr Jayawardene, owner of a shipping company but I am not here to answer your questions about the management. I am only a worker there."
However, in 2012, Sri Lanka Cricket Chairman Upali Dharmadasa admitted that Carlton Sports Network (CSN) was indeed owned by the sons of then President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
