Uva Province Chief Minister Harin Fernando stated that he has some questions on ‘good governance’ since the UNP members have been sidelined at times.
Speaking at a recent meeting in Keppitipola, Welimada, Fernando said that the UNP did a major share of the effort to win votes for Maithripala Sirisena at the presidential election in January. Despite this, some others have sidelined them at times, he added.
Fernando also said that he had discussed this matter with UNP leader Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
However, he also pointed out that he was prepared to face these difficulties patiently and even give up his posts for the effort of the new government in creating a new political culture in the country.
A few days ago, Fernando said that he was planning to compete in the forthcoming parliamentary election.
