Cabinet Spokesman and Minister of Health and Indigenous Medicine Rajitha Senaratne stated that further details on misuse of power by former defense secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa were being revealed.

Speaking to BBC Sandeshaya on the court order restricting Rajapaksa’s foreign travels, Senaratne said that Rajapaksa had misused power in deals involving several other institutions such as Lanka Hospitals, in addition to the activities surrounding the Avant-Garde armoury.

He added that the investigations are still underway on the founding and continuation of Avant Garde company, despite the claims by some politicians that Avant Garde had been cleared.

Senaratne added that no one has any right to make such statements, since investigations are still underway.

However, certain individuals are making such comments due to various reasons and some of them are officials who received appointments from the former defence secretary, Senaratne added. The minister further said that even officials have been misused in the Avant-Garde transactions.
