Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe today (18) informed the Parliament that a Select Committee will be appointed to probe corrupt deals that allegedly took place at the Colombo Stock Exchange since 2010.
“A proposal has already been submitted to the Parliament Secretary requesting to establish the Select Committee,” Wickremesinghe stated.
The Prime Minister added that the proposal will be added to the Parliament agenda and it will be further discussed with the Parliament Speaker.
Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe yesterday told the Parliament that he has instructed the Securities and Exchange Commission to probe into allegations of violations of the Colombo Stock Exchange market rules and Securities and Exchange Commission regulations.
