Sri Lanka Freedom Party General Secretary, UPFA MP Anura Priyadarshana Yapa has been summoned to the Special Investigations Unit to record a statement today.
However, Yapa is still to arrive to give his statement, Police Media Spokesperson ASP Ruwan Gunasekara told ‘Asian Mirror’ a short while ago.
Yapa informed that he is at a meeting in the morning and that he will arrive at the Special Investigations Unit after the meeting, Gunasekara said.
He has been summoned by the police to record a statement on a complaint lodged on an alleged loss of several millions of rupees incurred by the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation, due to a consignment of fuel that was imported to the country on June 2014 without ministerial approval.
Anura Priyadarshana Yapa was the Minister of Petroleum Industries in the previous government.
