Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani will arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport this afternoon as a part of his Asian tour.

The Emir will meet President Maithripala Sirisena, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe and other senior officers of the government, upgrading ties between Qatar and Sri Lanka.

A special traffic plan will be implemented today in view of the Emir's visit. Traffic will be restricted along the Katunayake – Colombo expressway, Baseline Road, Orugodawatta, Borella, D.S signal lights junction, Horton Place, road in front of Lotus Road, Liberty Roundabout, St. Michael’s Roundabout, and Galle Road from Kollupitiya to Galle Face Green and NSA Roundabout from 1.30 pm to 2.30 pm.

Vehicle traffic would be restricted on these roads again from 3.45 pm to 4.45 pm as the King would travel back to the BIA for his departure.
