President Maithripala Sirisena is scheduled to head China for a four-day-visit Wednesday (25).
At the Beijing International Airport, Deputy Foreign Minister of China will receive the president.
The official ceremony to welcome president Sirisena will be held Thursday (26) at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing with the presence of Xi Jinping, the President of People’s Republic of China.
President Sirisena is expected to hold talks with China’s Prime Minister Li Keqiang and President of National People’s Congress of China Shing Beiyang during the official visit.
During the visit several agreements will be signed between two countries.
Minister of Patali Champika Ranawaka, Minister Ravi karunanayake, Minister Rajitha Senaratne, Minister Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe and Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka will accompany the president.
However international media reported the four-day visit to china can be seen as a major effort to balance Sri Lanka's relationship with India and China.
