Sri Lanka Freedom Party General Secretary Anura Priyadarshana Yapa indicated that the party will take disciplinary action against its members who attend the pro-Mahinda Rajapaksa rally scheduled to be held on Thursday (26) at Ratnapura.
Addressing a press briefing at SLFP headquarters on Wednesday, Yapa stated that the earlier decision of banning SLFP members from attending ‘Dinu Nidahasa Anathure’ rally was still in force.
However the SLFP was not still decided whether to take disciplinary actions to members who defied the ban, he asserted.
“There is no need to inform party decisions to every member individually. Everyone should respect opinions of central committee” he elaborated.
Meanwhile posting a statement on his Facebook page, Western Province Chief Minister Prasanna Ranatunga said that he will to take part in the rally on March 26. He added that 40 UPFA members of Western Provincial Council and 150 members of Local Government Bodies will also accompany him to this rally.
