Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya on Monday (30) ordered to impound the passport of San Ya Peng, director of China Harbor Engineering Company Ltd (CHEC).
Criminal Investigations Department (CID) arrested him recently at the Bandaranaike International Airport when he was trying to leave the country.
San was accused of not paying the bills submitted by a sub-contractor for work done at the Mattala Airport, Suriyawewa Cricket Grounds and the Colombo Port City, local media reported.
When he was produced to the court the Chief Magistrate ordered to release him with four Chinese acting as sureties.
The case was postponed to April 02.
