The Financial Fraud Investigation Division is currently recording a statement from former Treasury Secretary and Economic Development Ministry Secretary P.B. Jayasundera in connection with the controversial hedging deal, Police Media Unit told Asian Mirror.
The five-year-old dispute between the Sri Lankan Government and the Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) over the deals finally ended in 2013 with a US$ 60 million (Rs.7.5 billion) payment settlement.
Former Central Bank Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal was summoned to the police Financial Fraud Investigations Division on Monday (30) to record a statement on the hedging deal. He was questioned for five hours by police.
