'JHU Disturbs Good Governance Program': JVP

Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna General Secretary Tilvin Silva lashed out at Jathika Hela Urumaya, severely criticizing it for being an obstacle for ‘good governance’, despite being a part of the government.

Addressing the ‘April Heroes’ commemoration at Tangalle on Sunday, Silva said that JHU and some of the supporters of Mahinda Rajapaksa were disturbing the ‘good governance’ program continuously.

He added that more than 6.2 million people voted for Maithripala Sirisena to abolish the executive presidency and not to keep it. It was ironical that certain people are insisting on keeping executive presidency after they had been a part of a movement against it, he added.

Silva further asserted that JVP was working on every possible method in order to achieve goals of the 100 days program.

“We have a bond with general public. We are an accountable to them. We have to make sure this temporary government will go on the correct path. We believe after this 100 days program there won’t be any other chance to fulfill the wishes of the people,” he said.
