The 18 year old son of the woman who was recently murdered in Kotakethana, Kahawatta, was arrested on Thursday evening over the killing of his mother.

He is currently being held in police custody.

Post mortem report had revealed that the woman died of a blunt force trauma on the head.

The woman, 39 year-old Chandrani Swarnalatha, went missing on early hours of April 5. Her body was later found in a canal near her house.
