Nineteen individuals were arrested over the attack on Frontline Socialist Party office in Gannoruwa last night. Four FLSP members were injured and admitted to Peradeniya Hospital.
The immediate reason for the incident was the ownership of the office building. The owner had demanded the building back from the party recently.
However, Frontline Socialist Party Politburo Member Duminda Nagamuwa told Asian Mirror that the matter had been resolved with the owner a week ago.
It was also reported that the resurgence of the issue was due to the involvement of a group of local JVP supporters.
The group made two attacks at around 7pm on Sunday and at 2am this morning.
Arrested individuals will be produced before the Kandy Magistrate today, Police Media Spokesperson ASP Ruwan Gunasekara told.
