State Minister of Culture Nandimithra Ekanayake stated that he has not been informed of his appointment to the Central Committee of the Sri Lanka freedom Party.

Speaking to BBC Sandeshaya on Tuesday, the minister said that he saw the reports of his appointment but the party is yet to inform him.

He criticized the expulsion of five members from the Central Committee recently, adding that the five expelled CC members have worked tirelessly for the party.

However, he did not criticize the president, adding that Maithripala Sirisena was balancing all sides very well.

Bandula Gunawardena, T.B. Ekanayaka, S.M. Chandrasena, Rohitha Abeygoonawardena and Salinda Dissanayake were removed from the SLFP CC recently. It was reported that Nandimithra Ekanayake, Arjuna Ranatunga, Ediriweera Weerawardena, Hirunika Premachandra and Prasanna Solangaarachchi were reportedly appointed to the CC.
