Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa called for a meeting with the Director General of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery and Corruption Dilrukshi Dias Wickremasinghe at the parliamentary complex this afternoon, UPFA MP Wimal Weerawansa told Asian Mirror.
Speaking further, Weerawansa said that the meeting was scheduled to start at 4pm.
This meeting is called with regards to the summoning of former president Mahinda Rajapaksa to the Commission to record a statement on the decision to appoint Tissa Attanayake as a minister.
A large number of UPFA MPs launched a sit-in at the parliament this morning, forcing the Speaker to adjourn the parliament. The MPs vowed to continue the protest until the decision to summon Mahinda Rajapaksa is revoked.
A letter signed by 55 UPFA MPs against the decision was handed over to the president earlier in the day, Weerawansa also said.
