The debate on the 19th Amendment was once again postponed to April 27 and 28, since the Sri Lanka Freedom Party was opposed to approving it without electoral reforms.
The decision was announced after a special meeting at the parliament between the President and party leaders.
Parliament will convene at 9.30am on April 27 and the vote on the Amendment bill will be taken on Tuesday, April 28.
President Maithripala Sirisena arrived at the parliament to resolve the controversy that has arisen in parliament from Monday after the UPFA MPs backing former president Mahinda Rajapaksa launched a protest.
