Entrance Terminal at the Katunayake Bandaranaike International Airport was closed as more than 1000 supporters of Basil Rajapaksa gathered around the airport premises to welcome him.

Rajapaksa is expected to arrive at the BIA at around 1.30pm on board Flight EK 348 from Dubai.

An employee of the BIA told Asian Mirror that the decision to close the terminal was a ‘management decision, due to the expected arrival of Basil Rajapaksa.’

Western Province Council Minister Nimal Lanza is to welcome Former Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa once he arrives.

Meanwhile, Rajapaksa will be handed over notice to attend courts regarding the case pertaining to the alleged financial misappropriation at the Divi Neguma Department.
