Police Media Spokesman ASP Ruwan Gunasekara told Asian Mirror a short while ago that former Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa is yet to officially inform the Financial Crimes Investigations Division of a time when he will arrive to give a statement.

FCID is to record a statement concerning the alleged financial fraud in the Divi Neguma Department as per the instructions of Kaduwela Magistrate Courts. Rajapaksa, who arrived in the island early this afternoon, told reporters that he will assist police in any investigation on allegations against him.

ASP Gunasekara said that the officials of FCID were anticipating any official confirmation from Basil Rajapaksa.
