President Maithripala Sirisena and former president Mahinda Rajapaksa are scheduled to meet in the near future to discuss the matters in the Sri Lanka Freedom Party, UPFA MP T.B. Ekanayake said at a press briefing on Tuesday.
He added that both Sirisena and Rajapaksa have expressed the willingness for such a meeting and it is to take place at a suitable place for both, Ekanayake said, adding that it was a positive development for the party.
Several SLFP MPs who support Rajapaksa are to meet several SLFP MPs who assumed duties as ministers this evening to finalize the plans for the meeting, Ekanayake further stated.
