General Amnesty period of Sri Lanka Army which was recently declared came to an end today (25), Military Spokesperson, Brigadier Jayanath Jayaweera said.
Speaking to media Brigadier Jayaweera said that, 23600 army absentees have reported to respective Regimental Centers to receive their legal discharge from the service
More than 18500 of them have been released and the rest will be released without delay, he added.
Sri Lanka Army once extended the initially announced amnesty period on 16th April considering the high response.
