Jathika Hela Urumaya (JHU) decided to vote in favor of 19th Amendment to the Constitution, JHU General Secretary and minister Patali Champika Ranawaka told.
Addressing a press briefing on Sunday (26) the minister further said that they decided to back the amendment because several constitutional changes have taken place according to the request of JHU.
JHU earlier declared that it would take every possible step to defeat 19th amendment to the Constitution saying that it was an attempt to empower the Prime Ministerial post.
The 19th Amendment will be debated on April 27 and 28, and the vote is to be taken on the afternoon of April 28.
