President Maithripala Sirisena was supplied with a personalized copy of the Sinhala language version of the controversial film ‘No Fire Zone’.
“The truth is coming out. I appeal to you not to obstruct that process, but to encourage it and to be on the side of truth.” Callum Macrae, the director of ‘No Fire Zone’ told President Maithripala Sirisena in a message
Macrae handed the copy of the film to government officials at a specially arranged meeting in the Sri Lankan High Commission in London, international media reported.
However in an interview with BBC Sandeshaya during his official visit in UK, the president said that he had doubts on sources used by Channel 4 to produce ‘No Fire Zone.’
The controversial movie alleges that war crimes did take place during the latter stages of the war against the LTTE terrorists.
Its Sinhalese dubbed and subtitled copy was first screened in a committee room in British Parliament recently.
