US Secretary of State John Kerry left that island at about 11.35am on Sunday, after completing his two-day official visit.
Kerry arrived in the country on Saturday morning and held discussions with Foreign Minister Mangala Samaraweera. Later on Saturday, he called on President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
Kerry visited Kelaniya Rajamaha Viharaya on Saturday evening.
On Sunday he met with TNA leaders including party leader R. Sampanthan before leaving the country.
Kerry was the first US Secretary of State to visit the island in a decade, and the first to make an official visit in 43 years.
