Former defence secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa arrived at the Bribery Commission this morning to give a statement.

Rajapaksa was summoned to the commission on April 23 over the cases regarding Avant-Garde Security Services and Rakna Lanka Araksha Limited.

Meanwhile, JVP last week filed a case at the Bribery Commission against Rajapaksa and three others on alleged financial fraud during the 2013 Deyata Kirula Exhibition at Ampara.

Rajapaksa has continuously insisted on his innocence on these allegations. He warned that he would take legal action against the JVP on the recent complaint.
