Former defence secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa will appear at police Financial Crimes Investigations Division on May 20.

Rajapaksa was due to appear at FCID today but requested a new date on the grounds of mental stress. He appeared at Bribery Commission on Monday and is due to appear at CID tomorrow. He has also been summoned to the Bribery Commission on Wednesday.

Rajapaksa is being investigated on several complaints in the three institutions. However, he insists that he was only carrying out his job as a public servant.

Meanwhile, Rajapaksa filed a Fundamental Rights petition at the Supreme court on Monday, questioning the legality of the establishment of FCID.
