A Tiruchi-bound Sri Lankan Airlines flight from Colombo returned home due to heavy downpour at the Tiruchi airport and bad weather condition in the city on Tuesday afternoon.

The flight which was to arrive at Tiruchi international airport at around 2.30 p.m. had to turn back to Colombo due to poor visibility following heavy rains in the city.

Upon getting information regarding normal weather condition later and refuelling at Colombo, the flight arrived at Tiruchi at around 5 p.m. and left back to the island nation’s capital later, airport sources said.
