National Freedom Front requested President Maithripala Sirisena to give all parties more time to study the 20th Amendment.

The NFF leader Wimal Weerawansa sent a letter to the President, informing him of the need for time to study the amendment, MP Weerakumara Dissanayake told media at a press briefing this morning.

Weerawansa also said that all political parties to should be given sufficient time to obtain the opinion of relevant specialists and discuss the provisions of the amendment thoroughly.

While pointing out that electoral reforms were vital, Weerawansa also warned the president of undue haste in implementing such reforms.
