Despite rumors, Democratic Party has not taken any official move to enter an electoral alliance, National Organizer of the party Captain Gayan Withanage told Asian Mirror a short while ago.
Withanage said that the party has not taken such a decision as of now. However, the political situation might change in the country in the future and the party leaders will decide accordingly, he added.
He pointed out that an election has not been officially announced. However, the Democratic Party is prepared to face an election at any given moment, he added. Party organization meetings were held around the country, except in the north east, from March to May 13, Withanage also said.
