President Maithripala Sirisena said that the government is taking full responsibility of preventing the outbreak of another war.
Speaking at the ‘Remembrance Day’ national event in Matara, Sirisena said that every step will be taken against terrorism. LTTE will not be given an opportunity to regroup, he said.
Meanwhile, Sirisena added that although the former government built the damaged roads and bridges after the war, it could not repair the damaged hearts of the people. Reconciliation was a primary task of his government, Sirisena added.
The president also said that the honor of ending the war should go to all Heads of State and the tri forces and police.
