President Maithripala Sirisena on Tuesday (20) said that the government was investigating the attempts to delay the results of January 8 elections by imposing curfew.
He stated this at a meeting with media heads this morning.
It was said that the alleged coup was planned by the former government to remain in power even if former President Mahinda Rajapaksa lost the presidential election.
On January 14 Foreign Minister Mangala Samaraweera lodged a complaint with the CID, requesting the launch of an immediate investigation into the 'election night coup'
