Bodu Bala Sena(BBS) CEO Dilantha Withanage said that Kirama Wimalajothi Thera has not informed officially on the resignation as president of BBS.

When asked on reports of the resignation of Wimalajothi Thera as president of BBS, Withanage said that he had heard of the reports. Wimalajothi Thera reportedly said that he resigned from the post of Chairman because he disappointed with recent activities of the organization.

Withanage pointed out that Wimalajothi Thera had resigned several times earlier.

“We also heard about the statement Wimalajothi thera issued today. But we haven’t received any official confirmation from him yet,” he added. Withanage also pointed out that Wimalajothi Thera functioned as a figurehead within the organization.
