The Court of Appeal (CA) refused to grant interim order against the appointment of Harin Fernando as Uva Province Chief Minister.

Fernando was appointed CM on January 14, days after the defeat of former president Mahinda Rajapaksa at the presidential election on January 8.

UPFA filed a petition against the appointment of Harin Fernando as Chief Minister. The Appeals Court postponed further hearing of the case to June 19.
