Former First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa has reportedly been admitted to Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore, where she is expected to undergo several specialised medical examinations.

Rajapaksa, who had been receiving inpatient treatment at a private hospital in Colombo for about a week, left for Singapore yesterday (16).

A member of the Rajapaksa family claimed that after she arrived at the airport, an official approached her near the boarding gate and handed her a summons issued by the Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID).

Accordingly, Rajapaksa has been instructed to appear before the FCID on 24 September.
