Chairman of the Board of Investment for Sri Lanka Attorney Upul Jayasuriya has stated that the Government as well as the Private Sector are losing a sum of more than 10 million rupees per day due to the protest campaigns and work stoppages lunched to win demands.
Attorney Upul Jayasuriya said that the Government as well as the private sector was losing millions of rupees due to work stoppages launched every day. Some may increase their earnings but on an average basis the income decreases. If it is possible to divert this trend to another direction, encouraging these groups to collect the money that is being lost and launch a social service, then they will be winners of this battle.
He made these references at a function organized for the handing over of medical drugs and surgical equipment worth 1.5 million rupees to the Maharagama Apeksha Hospital. The donation has been made by the Buddhist Society of the Board of Investment. Upul Jayasuriya handed over this donation to Hospital Director Dr. M.Y.K. Wilfred.
