The Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation has reverted back to the previous logo. The former logo was trilingual while nine months ago its then Director General Sonala Gunawardene introduced a new logo featuring text in only Sinhalese.

However, an official of the SLRC said a decision was taken to revert to the old logo due to both internal and external pressures. Staffers had also voiced their opposition against the change at the time while activists also called out the decision to feature only Sinhala text in the logo as divisive and polarising.
